Dr. Gellis began his education at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, receiving his Bachelor of Science in cell and molecular biology. He went on to Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he achieved his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.
Following his education, Dr. Gellis fulfilled his Internal Medicine residency at The Graduate Hospital of Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, where he became the Chief Medical Resident. After this, he completed a Fellowship in Gastroenterology with The Graduate Hospital and later a Fellowship in Gastroenterology with Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey.
Interested in learning more about diagnosing and treating digestive system issues, Dr. Gellis achieved Board Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine in gastroenterology as a subspecialty. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and certified by the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners. Dr. Gellis also serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown, Ohio.
In addition, Dr. Gellis has recently received recognition from Akron Life Magazine Top Docs and has been considered one of the Castle Connolly Regional Top Doctors since 2021.
